A note on terms: while Vine is a narrative that takes place in history, we deliberately did not always use historical terms. For example, a writer in 1804 would not have used the term “Indigenous” to describe the original people of the Americas. We have no interest in propagating the use of inaccurate terms like “Indian” or the use of offensive terms like an NFL team. We’d prefer to use correct terms and try to erase the language of harm, even if it means for a few anachronisms in our little horror story. Thank you for reading Vine.
